Birthday Girl is a band based in Lincoln made up entirely of gender-nonconforming artists. These friends and band-mates came together to share queer joy and their love with the community. They draw inspiration from a variety of genres including country, folk, rock, jazz, and classical sources. Floating Opera is a long-running musical group from Lincoln Nebraska, with vocals (Genevieve Bachinski), keyboards (Richard Rebarber), violin (Thad Miller), cello (Alyssa Storey), trumpet (Barb Schmit), guitar (Scott Stanfield), percussion (John Gessert), and bass (Tery Daly). They have nationally released one cassette and five CDs. Hailey Dunn is a theatre kid at heart who has always loved music and singing. With two years of piano under her belt, she is writing more original work. Hailey’s music is inspired by finding confidence, love, and nonconformity.
